Ysbrant Marcelis
Senior Director
Ysbrant serves as senior director with responsibility for advisory services and strategic partnership development. In this capacity, he leads engagements with private sector clients, including global telecommunication, financial services, technology and investment firms. He has extensive experience in corporate and commercial strategy, having advised a range of Fortune 500 companies as well as national governments and international NGOs on investment, technology, market entry & expansion, and policy design. Ysbrant has led engagements in Europe, the United States, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to founding OpenRevolution, Ysbrant was a management consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, where he worked with public and private sector clients in the financial services and telecommunications space. Prior to Booz, he served as an advisor to the Iraq Study Group (‘Baker-Hamilton Commission’) and as associate director with a DC-based think tank. Additionally, he served as an advisor to the Project on National Security Reform and was an associate focused on M&A and market entry strategy for a boutique consultancy. Originally from the Netherlands, he has completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. He is a Truman Fellow and a fellow at the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress.
